This week’s interesting links:
Dare to Do Legendary Things – Mike Maples Jr. –“Only do things that have a chance to be legendary” because it takes just as much work to do something mediocre. Great talk by the co-founder of the venture capital firm Floodgate, his key thoughts on what entrepreneurs can learn from the very few technology startups that have become “thunder lizards”.
What I’m Reading
The Secret Lives of Tumblr Teens – Really interesting read. “These kids are so advanced—so, so advanced, they are the most brilliant digital strategists. These teens are better marketers than anyone in the game right now.”
Calm – An app to help you meditate. I’ve done the intro 7 Days of Calm (ok I admit I didn’t do it over 7 consecutive days…it may have taken me 3 weeks), but I want to practice mindfulness on a more regular basis and have started the next 21 day programme.
Why Co-Sleeping Is a Wonderful Thing – I co-slept with my son when he was a newborn and don’t anymore, but it’s so true that time is fleeting. He won’t always want to cuddle, so I’m going to enjoy these precious moments while I can 🙂
Kevin Costner on Building His Career, Positive Self-Talk, and Making Dances with Wolves Happen – I love Tim Ferriss’ podcast and really enjoyed this episode with Kevin Costner having been a big fan of his work when I was younger. The Explorers Guild sounds awesome, and I’ve ordered a copy!
